MC-025 Carboniferous rock formations, Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia
$2.75 – $5.50
These rock formations on the north shore of the Bay of Fundy in the Minas Basin are over 200 million years old. They formed when Pangea broke apart and lava erupted between the cracks in the tectonic plates. This is a unique geological area which will eventually become a UNESCO world heritage site. We ran in the “Not Since Moses” 10K race along the shore, with these prehistoric formations as the backdrop, while the tide was at its lowest. The incentive was to finish before the tide rolled back in. We did.
